Exciting fundraising opportunity in progressive national charity!

This Charity is seeking a recent graduate to join them for an exciting 12 week placement, starting in August 2010 in the role of Community Fundraising Officer. The placement will be based in Ringwood, Hampshire.

We are looking for someone to implement our community fundraising plans whilst we make some longer term strategic decisions. This is a great opportunity to gain fundraising experience! The role will involve:-

• communicating with, encouraging and inspiring existing supporters who are planning to take part in or organise fundraising events in aid of the Trust
• researching clubs and organisations to target and preparing creative and inspiring letters and materials to send out to encourage people to sign up and support the Trust
• making phone calls to individuals, clubs and organisations to encourage support
• undertaking some administrative work

Applicants must be recent graduates, graduating from 2008 onwards and must possess the following aptitudes, skills & competencies:

• Enthusiastic, outgoing personality
• Ambitious to ‘make a mark’ and make a real difference in a short-time frame
• Happy to make ‘cold calls’
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent writing skills
• Able to use a database and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

This charity is a unique trust for adults with liver disease.
The Trust is working hard to raise awareness of liver disease and encourage investment in treatment and care for patients.

The Trust provides a comprehensive website, free medical helpline, and distributes a wide range of information leaflets to individuals and healthcare professionals. In addition, the Trust is a contact point for support groups nationwide, as well as co-ordinating funding and providing support for research. The Trust has grown significantly over the past couple of years and is currently undertaking a range of exciting projects in addition to its core activities.

You will be paid a training allowance of £840.00 every four week, free from Tax and National Insurance deductions.
